We often get asked whether you need an interior designer or an architect for property projects. And honestly? It depends!
For internal reconfigurations—like knocking down walls—we can take the lead, working alongside a structural engineer to ensure everything’s done safely. However, if you’re planning a side extension, loft conversion, or any new structural additions, that’s when we’d recommend bringing in an architect. They’re the pros at structural design, and while it’s not in our skill set, we’re great at recommending excellent architects who can help.
For larger projects—think building a new home or combining refurbishment with an extension—it’s best to hire both an architect and an interior designer. Architects are brilliant at creating the bones of the space, while we focus on making the interiors just as stunning and functional as the structure itself.
Now, about timing. Who should you call first? Ideally, both of us at the same time! Collaborating from the start means we can integrate our designs seamlessly, avoiding hiccups later. It also reduces on-site confusion and keeps your team happy and productive. Fewer questions, fewer delays—and potentially fewer costs. Win-win!
